AS I said in my last blog post I have been away for a while, not just my blog but from photography. When your not being a photographer the result is you become complacent and lazy, “I’ll do it tomorrow/next week” or “the light aint right” become your catchphrases. And once your in that death loop its hard hard work to break free before you spiral outa control and crash into a couch in front of a TV with 900 meaningless channels, or worse yet, the horrors that is Facebook.
So I decided I was gonna start shooting more this year and needed to kick myself, quite hard as it turns out, “creatively” to do accomplish this. I needed a goal something to work towards but be achievable, something simple…… at no point did I think a Project 365 was any of these things so precisely why did I start one? No seriously Im asking
So I started 2013 not even sure what project I would be doing but did a very simple shot on Jan 1st and on Jan 2nd it was a surprise, even to me, when i took a picture and called it day 2, the 3rd came and a 3rd pic was so named. Now were still very early on in the year but with the encouragement and advice from friend also doing a 365 project it looks like I am in it for the long haul.
So a quick update on what has gone before now seems in order:
Day1 : Very simple shot just a quick jab at everyone making resolutions that are plainly absurd

Day2 : The book has come a long way, so a quick shot to show how far its come, from paper to electronic…… I had fun chopping this book to bits, I really did

Day3 : First off camera flash shot I had done in ages, simple flash under the can to illum and second to illum the can…..liked doing this one

Day4 : Simple product shot, the Garmin unit is very reflective so surprisingly difficult to light. Single off camera flash and reflector on black reflective surface

Day5 : What do you do when its dark and your shooting a landscape….use a tripod….What do you do if you forgot your tripod…..Pray its sharp! Landscapes are an enigma to me and one thing i really wanna revisit

Day6 : Cycling…. told you that I would be talking cycling again. Meet James McCallum a pro rider for Rapha Condor, great day out.

Day7 : If you mix Pig, Macbook and a Flash what would you get…..Ta Dah!

Day8 : Ok so I have been out since 7am and I got home just before 11pm so I have an hour to shoot something, like the light, hate the fact you can see the brolly and reflections.

Day9 : My wife is going into hospital ( again! ) simple shot to show her leaving

Day10 : Wife still gone, not in the greatest of places but I decided I was doing a self portrait….I just wanted to hide. Off camera flash in partially closed brolly, love the light hate the pose but its how I felt.

Day11 : Wife is home, not a flattering shot of her on the couch and nor should it be, but the most beautiful sight I would want….my wife is home.

So that catches you up with the project thus far, only another 354 shots to go and we can wrap this one up! Wow
Catch you soon
